About

Hello, I'm Tucker Lein and this is my site for my hobby game studio called Six50Studios. This site will be used as the home of all projects I am working on. I am currently attending school for a computer science degree at Radford University in Virginia, United States. In my free time I enjoy coding games in Java which is what this site is dedicated to.

My current project is entitled "The Treasure of Absalom" and is being built off the Java engine Slick2D. I have been working on a custom engine for it since May 2011 and still have quite a way to go. Before I had enough knowledge in programming to even think of coding my own engine I was using a game-making utility called Zelda Classic to make games. I grew up playing the older 2D Zelda games and I always wanted to make my own. For many years I designed games but never was able to release any due to my frustration in the program plus boredom in the design process.

In my junior year of high school I took a computer science course and discovered how much I enjoyed the world of programming. This has prompted me to continue studying computer science through college and finally start to make my own game engine. A lack of control on every feature frustrated me with game making utilities so I finally decided to do something about it. For now I am the head programmer for The Treasure of Absalom and am joined by Mitchell Stemple for design and Robin Høyland for graphics. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions concering any of my projects or wish to contribute.
